My Photo Contests – Judging

 

 

Judging Process:

Winners for each contest are selected based the judging criteria defined on the entry form and rules for each contest, but may include a Public Voting Process, Juried Selection, or a Combination of the Public Voting Process and Juried Selection.

Public Voting Process – Winners of contests utilizing the public voting process will be determined by ranking the photos based on the number of eligible votes received for each photo as defined in the official contest rules.  The photo with the most votes wins, the photo receiving the second most votes is awarded 2nd place, etc. until the total number of awards defined on the contest entry form have been awarded.

The Juried Process – For contests utilizing the juried  process,  Entries for each contest will be reviewed by the designated My-Photo Contest judge or judges.  All photos will be judged based on the contest theme and objectives but may include Relevancy, Originality, the photos receiving the highest scores win.

 

1. All pictures submitted to the contest are reviewed by each of the designated My Photo Constests Judges.  Each Judge selects their favorite photos and they become eligible for consideration as theme finalists.   

2. The public votes for their favorite photos during an open voting period which  begins after the entry period.  The photos recieving the most votes become eligible for consideration as theme finalists.

3. Photos that qualify as theme finalists  including the photos selected by judges and the photos recieving the most votes are then  ranked by a panel of Judges selected by MyPhotoContests.com to determine the winners.

 Judging Criteria

Each judge privatley reviews and ranks the theme finalists on official My Photo Contests score cards and then submits their score cards to the contest administrator.  The Contest Administrator, then compiles the scores for each photo as submitted by the judges and determines the category winners.  

The Judging Score Card includes 4 critera and each criteria has a maximum score of  25 points.  The maximum score for any photo is 100 points.   

  1. Relevancy- 25 points – Rank the photo’s relavancy to the contest theme
  2. Originality – 25 points – Rank the photo’s originality and creativity   
  3. Impact- 25 points – Rank the photo’s emotional impact  
  4. Photo Quality- 25 points – Rank the photo’s quality for clarity, focus, and technical details
